The type of work I do falls into 3 broad categories,
and this determines the type of guarantee I can offer
1 - A Problem Whose Cause Is A Mystery.Networks and computer conspire to produce plenty of these. If I can't diagnose the problem then there's no charge.
The solution to a given problem might be to reconfigure some software settings (if you're lucky) and I will of course take care of this. If the same problem reoccurs up to 30 days after I've claimed to have fixed it, I'll make a free return visit.
It may be that the solution requires you to purchase some extra software or hardware or to repair or replace a faulty item of hardware. You may not want to spend the money straight away and might want a second opinion. In such cases I won't be able to perform an immediate fix. If there are any inaccuracies or complications with a diagnosis I've charged forI'll make a free return visit.
2 - A Problem That You Already Know the Cause And SolutionExamples of this might be upgrading a server - perhaps with a larger hard disk - or setting up a new software service such as an email server or Internet firewall. I will continue to provide free email and telephone support plus return visits until the new system has been working correctly for 30 days.
3 - Design And General Consulting WorkIn these cases the type of guarantee that is appropriate will vary and would need to be negotiated. In all business dealings I strive to protect and enhance my reputation for fairness and honesty by:-
